Halloween Hops

Last Thursday was Halloween night and like many college students I spent it drinking and stuffing my face. 

My Halloween night shenanigans took me to a nice little pub called the Tilted Kilt located in Oakbrook Terrace, IL.   In the company of new friends and in the spirit of the evening I sampled some of the quality beer selection the pub had to offer.  My favorite beer of the night was the Raging Bitch IPA, which had been previously recommended to me by a good friend. 

Raging Bitch is a Belgian style IPA that upon first sip is like a bitter kick to the face.  After the initial taste you can really begin to taste the malt and sweet fruit flavors incorporated into the brew.

Here are some facts on the Raging Bitch taken from the Flying Dog Brewery website.

·      ABV: 8.3%

·      Bitterness: 60 IBU

·      Pine and grapefruit hop flavors

·      Available Year-round

Flying Dog recommends the beer be paired with spicy foods, or something sweet like fruit or chocolate.  I enjoyed it with some of the Tilted Kilts five-cheese flatbread pizza which I highly recommend.
