Eco-Friendly Never Tasted So Good

Today I went to an interesting little bar called Simone’s located in Chicagos Pilsen neighborhood on the corner of Morgan and 18th Street. The bar has a great atmosphere, a diverse beer menu, awesome food, and solar panels?

That’s right Simone’s bar is a 3 Star Certified Green Restaurant that boasts rooftop solar panels, and an interior décor made entirely out of recycled material.  The main feature is the pinball ramps that decorate the walls of each booth.

While I was there I enjoyed a Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale, a smooth beer with a lot of flavor.  This beer is made by the Lexington Brewing and Distilling Comp., and has a moderately high eight percent alcohol content.  This sipping ale is aged for six weeks in a bourbon barrel to give it a robust bourbon flavor without loosing the taste of the ale.

During the week Simone’s is a great place to go and enjoy quality food, tasty beer, and a calm atmosphere.  On the weekends it’s packed with lively clientele and often features live DJ sets.

If you’re looking to break away from you’re usual watering hole then this south-side bar is definitely a place you want to visit.

Cheers!
